The job
Independence Ink is an appointment-only tattoo studio in Camden. The studio wanted a site that gets people to send a proper tattoo enquiry.
The site
Artist pages, tattoo styles, aftercare, an FAQ, and an enquiry form that walks people through the details an artist needs before they can quote.
It's dark and heavy on type, because that's what the studio looks like.
Behind the enquiry form
The form does a lot more than send an email. People can attach reference photos of their idea, which are shrunk on their phone first so they upload fast, then kept in private storage only the studio can open. Every enquiry is saved, so nothing gets lost in an inbox, and the person gets a confirmation email and a text straight away.
Spam checks and limits on how often the form can be sent keep junk enquiries out.
Colour
Black, white and greys, nothing else. The site is dark because the studio is, and with no colour of its own it lets the tattoo photos carry the colour.

Geist Navigation, buttons and footer
Kept for the things you click, so controls look different from the things you read.
We got exactly what we were after without having to explain it twice. The site looks the part and people actually book through it now.
